The American Society in London Speech

How time flies and I realise that it’s taken me over six months to post these photos! I was honoured back in the sweltering summer to be invited to give a brief speech at The American Society in London’s Independence day celebrations at the house of the Deputy Chief of Mission to the US Embassy. The ASL were the organisation who founded the AAGB, in fact it was born when Mr Gilbert Carr suggested that instead of planning their Independence day celebrations in 1940 they could form a humanitarian organisation to help the war effort. It was an amazing event to be invited to, and seemed fitting to share the story of the AAGB at it. We are lucky to currently live in relative peace and be able have a celebration like this, however if it wasn’t for people like Mr Carr and the ASL helping with the war effort the world may be a very different place today!
